What is Faith?

Faith is

The assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

By Faith
  • Men received divine approval (Hebrews 11:2).
  • We understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things which do not appear (Hebrews 11:3).
  • We offer to God an acceptable sacrifice through which we received approval as righteous, God bearing witness by accepting our gifts; he died, but through his faith he is still speaking (Hebrews 11:4).
  • We shall not see death for God will take because He is pleased (Hebrews 11:5).
  • Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith (Hebrews 11:7).

Without Faith

It is impossible to please God. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

Faith comes from

What is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)

Prayer

Lord, I live by faith in you.

Nothing can separate me from the love you have for me.

You have given me a blessing of oneness with you, so that in everything I do and work for, you will be honored and glorified.
He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred which redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant (Hebrews 9:15).
